WWE Wrestlemania 35 Match Rumors
WWE Wrestlemania 35 Match Rumors
Throughout the year, many news outlets and "dirt sheets" start to speculate and report matches that will eventually end up at Wrestlemania. Some of the rumors come to fruition while others end up a rumor. Since Summerslam in August, we have already heard several rumors for the "Showcase of the Immortals" happening at MetLife Stadium on April 7th, 2018. If they all do come true, this could be one of the biggest and best cards the WWE universe has ever witnessed.
We have tried to talk about each of these rumors as they have come up and rather than linking you to different pages, it would be best to have them all on one page starting with the most recent set of rumors.
The Rock vs. Brock Lesnar; Shawn Michaels vs. Daniel Bryan; AJ Styles vs. Randy Orton
Recent reports have started to circulate that the Phenomenal AJ Styles will square off against the Viper Randy Orton. While, neither currently have the WWE Championship, it is possible one of them will hold the title heading into the show. That is if the second match rumored happens. Daniel Bryan vs Shawn Michaels is a match of student vs. teacher. Shawn Michaels trained Bryan way back when and it would bring the career of Bryan Danielson full circle. Now that Shawn Michaels has returned to the ring, people have rumored that he will have a match at Wrestlemania. The opponent is yet to determine just like his return to the show he has become synonymous with. The one match that could main event Wrestlemania if it happens would be a rematch of 2002's Summerslam when the Rock drop the WWE Championship to then-youngest champion ever, Brock Lesnar. The Rock is the biggest box office draw in history while Brock Lesnar is a mainstream draw in wrestling and in MMA. A guarantee to main event if this happens.
Seth Rollins vs. Brock Lesnar; Shane McMahon vs. The Miz
Seth Rollins has become the voice of the WWE Universe after cutting a promo on WWE Raw that blamed Baron Corbin (playing the role of Vince McMahon) for low morale in the locker room, low attendance at shows and low rating on tv. One of the reasons he brought up was the lack of Brock Lesnar on TV despite being the Universal Champion. Seth can win the Royal Rumble and challenge Lesnar and become the new face of Raw by slaying the Beast at Wrestlemania.
On the other hand, The Miz could line up being the Royal Rumble winner. But if the rumored match against Shane McMahon happens, his rumble win won't. The Miz seemed to be destined as the new WWE champion and be dethrone AJ Styles, but with a swerve of Daniel Bryan's heel turn and championship victory on the Survivor Series Go-Home of Smackdown, plans definitely changed. The Miz was supposed to be in the Finals of the Crown Jewel, but when an ankle injury took him out of the match Shane McMahon came in and "saved the day". Thus, creating the storyline we have today.
Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey (Maybe Charlotte Flair too)
The match everybody wants to main event! Becky Lynch has catapulted to the not just the head of the women's division, but the face of the company since her "heel turn" at Summerslam. The match we were supposed to get at Survivor Series between Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch was changed to have Charlotte Flair replace Lynch after Nia Jax inadvertedly broke the face of and concussed Becky. Now, Becky rules Smackdown Live, WWE, and the Wrestling Twitter world and if this match doesn't main event Wrestlemania, we will have huge problems!
