Will WWE Cancel Crown Jewel?

October 15, 2018

Will WWE Cancel Crown Jewel?

We never thought that in a wrestling podcast that we would be talking politics and world news. However, we had no choice with the upcoming WWE Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia in question. If you are not paying attention to what is going on, Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi has allegedly been murdered at the Saudi consulate in Turkey. It is also possible that the Saudi government made the orders to kill Khashoggi, who has been very vocal against the Saudi regime.

In this week's episode of the Squared Circle Psychobabble, we talk about the latest reports of the Khashoggi disappearance and whether or not, WWE should cancel their event set for Friday, November 2nd. Many senators including, Connecticut's Chris Murphy (the senator that defeated Linda McMahon when she ran back in 2010). Vince McMahon should be talking to the likes of WWE Hall of Famer and the current U.S. President Donald Trump, Vince's wife Linda; the head of the Small Business Administration, and one of the competitors in the main event Kane, who is now the mayor of Knox County, Tennessee. Not only could this bring huge backlash to the WWE if they follow through, but those politicians associated.

Will the Miz bring Relevance Back to the WWE Championship?

On Smackdown this past Tuesday, The Miz cuts a promo during Miz TV on AJ Styles saying the title hasn't been irrelevant and less prestigious since Styles won the title weeks before 2017's Survivor Series. The Miz blames AJ Styles for that. We have said ourselves that the feud AJ has had as WWE champion have been underwhelming and the matches have not lived up to expectations. While Vince never has a Smackdown match main event a co-branded pay-per-view, except for Wrestlemania 19 when Brock Lesnar beat Kurt Angle for the WWE Championship, it could make you think that this is the reason why? If the Miz becomes the next WWE Champion, will he increase the relevance and prestige as he has with the Intercontinental and United States Championships before?

Shoot or Work - Weekly Wrestling Rumors

Chelsea Green to NXT

As reported on Twitter by @SoDuTw last week, Chelsea Green has signed with WWE and has reported the NXT Performance Center in Orlando. You may know Green in various ways. If you watch Impact Wrestling, you will know her as the hot mess bride and former Knockouts Champion Laurel Van Ness. If you watched All-In, you watched her in a fatal-four way match with Britt Baker (Adam Cole's girlfriend), Tessa Blanchard (daughter of Four Horsemen's Tully Blanchard) and Madison Rayne (former Knockouts Champion & Mae Young Classic competitor). If you follow wrestling relationships, you know she is currently dating WWE's Zack Ryder. Perhaps you may have seen her recent match with Pentagon Dark on Lucha Underground as Reklusa. If not there, then you definitely remember back in 2014 when she had an affair with Daniel Bryan! In storyline folks...she was Megan the personal trainer that Stephanie McMahon had come out on an episode of Raw to admit the affair during the Summerslam build between the Billion Dollar Princess and Brie Bella (Daniel Bryan's wife).

Either way, she is very good in the ring and the Laurel Van Ness characther is PERFECT for WWE.

Ralph - Shoot!

I don't see how it's not a shoot. With so many connections to WWE and being at the performance center for a tryout in June, I don't see how it is not a shoot.

Michael - Work!

For now, this is a work. I don't know who this @SoDuTW account is or his credibility. I think eventually it's a shoot. Think of the awesome matches she can have. Two that come to mind automatically are Nikki Cross and Ronda Rousey. Rousey needs a big storyline and Laurel Van Ness would be the perfect heel for her.

HBK to have a match for Wrestlemania 35?

WrestleVotes is saying that the match at WWE Crown Jewel between D-Generation X and The Brothers of Destruction could be the test to see whether or not Shawn Michaels still has what it takes to have a big match in the ring. If all goes well, then a match at Wrestlemania 35 will happen.

Ralph - Shoot!

The match at Crown Jewel should not be the be-all-end-all for this return. A match at Wrestlemania 35 has to happen. Hopefully not with the Undertaker, but one of the younger guys like Adam Cole or Johnny Gargano. Maybe get the match we never got between HBK and the Rock!

Michael - Shoot!

Too many dream matches to even think of. AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, Johnny Gargano, Seth Rollins, you can make a whole list of matches. What if they go a different route and have Triple H end Shawn's career at Wrestlemania 35.

Bullet Club Elite to WWE?

Since the summer, how many times have we heard or talked about this in the wrestling community? Well the rumors are hotter than ever with the two most recent episodes of "Being The Elite". Watch the video below of our segment talking about it.

Ralph - Shoot!

With everything happening at New Japan Pro Wrestling and the morale dropping because of it, I don't see why not. Also, they may have done all they can with New Japan Pro Wrestling and Ring of Honor. Who else can they feud with without getting stale?

Michael - Shoot!

Kenny Omega is tweeting he wants to have a match with Seth Rollins. The Young Bucks and Omega have a great relationship with The New Day. I think this would be a great way to introduce the Elite to the casual WWE fan who does not know who they are. If the Bucks go to NXT, they can have great matches with the likes of Undisputed Era, Heavy Machinery, War Machine, and the Street Prophets. Not only that, they can stay in Orlando and have a stable family life due to the decreased amount of travel.

Khabib Nurmagomedev to WWE?

Last Friday, Khabib Nurmagomedev mentioned on Twitter that WWE has contacted him. No further details were mentioned, but the man who just defeated Connor McGregor obviously is a hot name right now. Especially after what happened at UFC 229.

Ralph - Shoot!

He's hot right now. He may have made the smartest dumb thing by doing what he did at UFC 229. Vince and company would be stupid not to get this guy!

Michael - Work!

With possible punishments which could lead to Khabib and crew getting fired from UFC, something like this could just be Khabib's way of getting what he wants from the mixed martial arts brand.
