#AEW: All Elite Wrestling Trademark Filed

November 21, 2018

Trademark Filing Indicate that New Promotion with the Elite Could Happen

Over a month ago, rumors were circulating in the Internet Wrestling Community that a new promotion was in the works involving the members of the Elite (The Young Bucks, Cody Rhodes, Hangman Page, Marty Scurll and Kenny Omega), Chris Jericho and Jim Ross. The rumor also stated that financial backing was going to be provided by the owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars Shahid Khan.

While no members of the Elite have confirmed nor denied the rumors, Chris Jericho and Jim Ross both denied this new wrestling promotion happening.  Well something interesting just happened that would make you think otherwise. According to WrestlingNews.co, several trademarks were filed by All Elite Wrestling, LLC. Those trademarks include:

  • AEW Double or Nothing
  • AEW All Out
  • AEW
  • Tuesday Night Dynamite

Among a couple other AEW related trademarks.

Where is All Elite Wrestling, LLC

All Elite Wrestling, LLC is registered to the same address as the Jacksonville Jaguars, 1 TIAA Bank Field Drive in Jacksonville, Florida. So, while this doesn't confirm the involvement of The Elite, Jericho or Ross, this is a pretty big indication that the football team owning billionaire is, in fact, looking to start his own wrestling promotion.

The Elite Contract Status

In a recent video done by Pro Wrestling Unlimited, contract statuses were brought up which included all members of the Elite. According to that video.

  • Young Bucks - Through 2018
  • Cody Rhodes - Working with ROH and NJPW Through Wrestle Kingdom 13 on January 4th
  • Hangman Page - Through 2018
  • Kenny Omega - Through January 2019
  • Marty Scurll - Some Point in Spring 2019

It also included Jim Ross's WWE contract which will be up in March of 2019. In mid to late September, Chris Jericho tweeted that he will be a free agent in January 2019.

So, everyone will be a free agent in 2019 and could be forming the rumored wrestling promotion.

Only time will tell whether or not the rumors are true. Will we get All In Double or Nothing? Is this all a rouse and the Elite end up in WWE, New Japan Pro Wrestling or Ring of Honor.

Who else could be in this new promotion if it happens?
